As part of a fundraising campaign, the family-run company Pro Pet Koller donated more than 70,000 kilograms of wet food for dogs and cats to animal welfare activists throughout Germany at the end of last year.

In a large-scale donation campaign, 40 different associations, organizations, animal shelters, and private individuals who dedicate themselves to animal welfare on a daily basis received high-quality wet food from the brands MAC’s and TUNDRA . Over 70 tons of food, divided into approximately 1.8 tons per donation, were distributed to dogs and cats in need last year. Several hundred animal welfare advocates had applied for the donation campaign, and the recipients were subsequently selected by lottery.

Pro Pet Koller has been committed to animal welfare for many years and regularly donates large quantities of food to animals in need. In addition to its annual donation campaign, the pet food manufacturer collaborates with the company Böser Kater to support animal welfare organizations both within and outside of Germany. Together with the spirits brand, Pro Pet Koller recently sent donations to the non-profit organization " Kitten Safe House e. V. " in Croatia, providing over a ton of food for the stray cats living there.

Christmas wish campaign: A donation for Willy Wilson

Koller with its Joe&Pepper , opted for another special project: a Christmas wish campaign. Pet owners could submit a special Christmas wish for their own pet, a friend's pet, or an animal welfare organization. Wishes were selected and fulfilled through a lottery system – one wish stood out in particular: Joe&Pepper received numerous submissions requesting support for the dog Willy Wilson. This rescue dog is cared for by the de Hun'nenhoff Foundation Koller decided to make a monetary donation to help cover Willy Wilson's surgery costs as quickly as possible.

The de Hun'nenhoff Foundation is an animal sanctuary in the Lüneburg Heath specializing in animals with disabilities. Last December, the sanctuary took in Willy Wilson, a male dog who requires specialized medical care due to paralysis of his hind legs. An infection in one of his hind legs necessitated amputation to prevent blood poisoning. Thanks in part to financial support from Pro Pet Koller , the necessary surgery was successfully performed, securing Willy Wilson the chance for a happy life as a wheelchair-bound dog at the sanctuary. The association's Facebook page regularly posts updates on Willy Wilson's recovery.
