A dream comes true for dog and cat owners: With the "Create Your Own Product" campaign, the brands MAC's and TUNDRA invite you to have a say in new wet food varieties for dogs and cats.
“Our goal is to develop dog and cat food that is not only healthy and nutritious, but also appeals to the animals’ taste,” explains Managing Director Michael Koller of Pro Pet. “And who knows their pet’s taste better than the owners themselves?” With the “Create Your Own Product” campaign, the two premium brands MAC’s and TUNDRA are encouraging pet owners to create their own food based on their pet’s preferences.
From development to label design
Using a questionnaire, participants can first determine what the food should contain: from the amount and type of meat content to the selection of fruits and vegetables, and even functional ingredients for skin and coat health or digestion – the choice is entirely up to them. MAC's allows for the creation of a cat food, while TUNDRA offers a variety for dogs.
The next step involves product development: The Pro Pet Koller team evaluates all submissions and develops two completely new wet food varieties from the most popular ingredient combinations. The entire process is documented on both brands' social media channels, offering behind-the-scenes glimpses and regular updates. Once the recipes for the two new complete foods are finalized, the community is asked for its input again: They can vote not only on the ingredients but also on the label design.
Creative freedom with Pro Pet values
Even though the two varieties can be freely designed, the brands remain true to their values: The new wet food varieties will continue to be produced without grains, added sugar, artificial colors, flavorings, and chemical preservatives. "The challenge is to create a food that meets both our convictions and the community's preferences," says Michael Koller. Ingredients such as grains, animal by-products, or soy are therefore not included in the questionnaires. "We are excited to see which varieties will emerge and are very much looking forward to collaborating with the community."
