Markus & Michael Koller

Koller family

The company's success story began over 30 years ago with Canadian dry food, five sled dogs, and a good instinct. Werner Koller began importing high-quality pet food from the USA and later from Canada.

At the same time, their sons, Michael and Markus, were racing sled dogs with their Alaskan Huskies. Since huskies need to drink water before racing, they worked with a small butcher shop in nearby Düren to develop a high-energy meat product specifically tailored to the needs of these racing dogs. The product was sold to sled dog athletes as wet food under the name Pro Power.

Very soon, in response to demand from owners of dogs with normal activity levels, a range of wet food based on meat and rice was developed under the name Pro Aktiv. A few years later, this range evolved into the MAC's , which has now become the company's main revenue generator. Today, the brand stands for high-quality, grain-free dog and cat food with a high meat content, combined with select fruits, herbs, and vegetables. MAC's also focuses on natural, complete foods that address health concerns.

In 2013, the grain-free market boomed, and it was time for a relaunch of the Canadian food. It was renamed TUNDRA , and the recipes were now grain-free and low in glycemic index. Inspired by the natural prey of wolves and wild cats, the brand focuses on high-quality products with plenty of meat and fish, combined with herbs, fruits, and vegetables.

In 2016, management of the company was handed over to their two sons, Michael and Markus Koller . After completing their studies, they followed in their father's footsteps and became the new generation of Pro Pet. Their sister, Christiane, remains in the background, and Werner and Veronika Koller are always available to provide advice and support. Due to steady growth both nationally and internationally, Michael and Markus Koller decided to open a production facility in the Eifel region in 2018. The Hofgut Eifel Land wet food production facility was established in Schleiden-Gemünd. They also launched the Hofgut Eifel Land , which offers high-quality wet dog food made from regional ingredients.

The production plant has the advantage that the transport routes are significantly shorter and, as a result, it can be operated and produced in a more environmentally friendly way with significantly lower CO2 emissions. The cans only have to be transported around the corner, as there is a pet shop for local customers in the immediate vicinity.

In 2022, Joe&Pepper, the newest brand to join Pro Pet's product range, joined the lineup. With delicious and healthy, no-nonsense wet food, this brand offers plenty of fresh meat combined with a fruit or vegetable.

To this day, Pro Pet Koller continues to evolve: from robotic support to the development of new products to the planned construction of another production facility. As a steadily growing company, Pro Pet now provides jobs for over 100 people from the Eifel region, is actively committed to environmental protection, and focuses on high-quality pet food for dogs and cats.
